A directory of businesses owned by minority residents and women has been developed the state Department of Commerce.
According to a news release issued Monday, the directory includes 350 businesses that have been certified by state officials.
Non-certified minority and women-owned businesses will eventually have the opportunity to list their businesses, said Rhonda Harris, director of the Department’s Office of Minority and Women Business Development. The directory is located at KansasCommerce.com/minoritywomendirectory
An Olathe-based company has announced its plans to expand and add up to 23 jobs next year, according to a news release issued Monday from the state Department of Commerce.
NIC Inc., which develops and manages government websites, online services and payment processing systems, currently employs more than 100 people in Kansas and nearly 700 nationwide.
Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George said in a prepared statement he was excited to see the growth of NIC. He said the company has been cited by Forbes magazine in the past for its growth.
