Silence the Jingle Bells already

Except for maybe some small children and Santa himself, I doubt there are many people who are as excited about the Christmas season as I am. I put up all my decorations the weekend after Thanksgiving and don’t take them down till New Year’s Day. I watch all the Christmas specials, and if I miss them, I rent them. I sing Christmas carols in the shower and have been known to lead group sing-a-longs at parties. In fact, I even still carol door-to-door!

However, even I don’t want to hear Christmas songs all day and all night this early in the season. But two Wichita stations are already at it. I don’t understand. Who wants this? What do the stations get out of it? Is it that much harder to run regular programming until at least after Thanksgiving? Sorry, but they’ve lost my business until then.

My kids, in early November: “Mom, why do people have their Christmas decorations up already?”
    Me: “Because they’re barbarians.”

I might have the grandkids help put up Christmas decorations this weekend – we are having an ‘early Thanksgiving. BUT – nothing turned on until the OFFICIAL beginning of the season. That comes when Santa comes down 5th Avenue in the Macy’s parade.

I love Christmas Music. Even if it feel a bit out-of-season, it’s quite soothing and high spirited. Just something about it.

I’ve been listening to it for more than a month. It’s popped up on my digital cable music channel since then.

The decorations up before Halloween and the non-stop christmas music has ruined the holidays for me……..the actual celebration is anti-climatic!

I could listen to Christmas carols all year long. Most people have a more pleasant attitude close to 12-25 and I guess I just hope they will be inspired early, if they too hear the carols. I tolerate things all year of which I don’t approve but someone does. Now it is time for all the folks who don’t like the carols to take a deep breath and tolerate us.

Blah, blah, blah… so don’t listen to it then. Really, a Blog entry to complain about having to exercise your radio dial. Wow.
