I was noodling around the Internet this afternoon and, to my surprise, I found the Optima Bus website. Optima, an outgrowth of Chance Coach, made those spiffy short buses and streetcars at a plant up in Park City. But the company was bought out in 2006 and the plant closed. The Optima name doesn’t even exist anymore.
But somebody forgot to turn off the switch on the website, so the company and its aspirations live on as cheerful and efficient as it was before it disappeared. Kind of a 21st Century ghost town. Eerie, huh.
