Coming through

Driving home last night, I had a thought that I often do when I’m in traffic and am irritated by another driver who happens to be in a vehicle advertising a business.

On one hand, cars and trucks offer an easy, cheap way for a company to advertise. But there’s also a risk that when the company’s driver doesn’t drive exactly the way fellow drivers would want (Go faster! Go slower! Use your *&^#@ turn signal!) those drivers might wind up aggravated at the company, too.

It happened to me twice recently, once behind a too-slow truck advertising a construction company and once when a very well known and popular businessman would not get out of my way.

OK, so the trend here may be that I drive too fast. My employers are probably happy that I’m not driving around a car advertising The Wichita Eagle.
