Bob, don’t stop talking about the important stuff, even if it’s not sports related. I still think you were an important part of getting the arena vote started and getting it to pass.

Bob you need to do a reality check. You are not a politician you are a sports reporter. Get off your soap box and come back to the real world. The tax payers who wanted the grand view athletic facilities have moved to the suburbs.

If we don’t upgrade our athletics and fine arts facilities in the Wichita district with this bond issue, they’ll never get upgraded. Getting Wichitans to pay for anything that they can’t directly use is nearly impossible.
My daughter will likely be attending West High in two years, and that school is an embarrassment where facilities are concerned. I’m sure the other district 259 schools are similar, though I haven’t been in them since the early 80’s. They’ve put off fixing the problem long enough, now they should do it all while there’s still something left to save.

Bob, I agree with you 100% The best father’s day gift I ever gave was Tim’s book “Big Russ and Me. It was one of the most touching tributes I have ever read. You could not read it without thinking about (and bringing you closer to) your own Dad.
It was nice to know a guy who talked to everyone who was anyone in American politics was actually very grounded. One of us.
Watching election coverage or Sunday morning talk shows will never be the same. I was looking forward to Tim, always unbiased, tough yet respectful, hold the candidate’s feet to the fire and make sense of politics today.
Nobody in American political journalism comes even close to the standard Russert set.
He will be greatly missed.

Who cares? It’s over. It was a week ago. FSU used it for motivation and now they are in Omaha while WSU is in Wichita. Why write this now?
