Who am I kidding?

I’ve been telling myself for years that I’ll be a good retiree, that I’ll find plenty of things to do to fill the hours. Hogwash.

Summer, when my job slows down, is so boring. There’s just not much going on and instead of enjoying the down time I find that I’m antsy to get going again. I’m really upset about that, too. I really believe in down time; I’m just not good at utilizing it.

Maybe my vacation will help. Getting away into beautiful country with a very good friends surely will be exciting. I am looking forward to it.

But now I’m not so much looking forward to retirement. Not that it’s just around the corner. Don’t get excited, you Lutz naysayers. I’m not going anywhere for a while.

Good job–two blogs in one day!

Have you thought about volunteer oportunities? Take your slow time to investigate what opportunities are out there–they can keep you as busy as you want to be.

Organizations in Wichita don’t get near the press they deserve (or didn’t when I lived there). You would be amazed at the number of school children clothed by Assistance League of Wichita. And they have many more projects. They are much more than a Thrift Shop and Gingerbread Village.

    Bob,

I hope you are having a good vacation. I will have to hear about the highlights as I am taking my family to the Dakota’s (that will complete our journey through the 48 States. Bob, you will find many opportunities to share your passion of sports as long as you have breath. Have a GREAT Trip!
