Women are awesome

You know, when I made the decision lo those many years ago to become a sportswriter, I also made the decision to become a non-factor to half of the human race.

Not that there aren’t loyal sports lovers who are women. There are. It’s just that I don’t usually hear from them, either based on my newspaper column or on Sports Daily.

One of the reasons I enjoy this blog is because it elicits some response from the fairer sex. This blog isn’t just about sports. I don’t want it to be just about sports. My life cannot be just about sports, sports, sports. There are so many other elements to my life and if you give me a minute or two, I’ll think of one.

So, if you’re a woman and you read this blog, know that I appreciate you. And it’s my goal to increase female readership here. But I won’t sacrifice my manness (the way McDreamy and Finn did to attempt to win the affections of Meredith on Grey’s Anatomy) to do so.

Rolling Stones fallout

I’ve always been a pretty big fan of the Rolling Stones. But not to the point where I bought all of their records or CDs.

But since their concert here a couple of weeks ago, I’ve purchased two Stones CDs: Exile on Main Street and Let it Bleed. And I’m looking at buying a couple of more when I can save up the money.

I’ve also purchased some Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and The Who. And, of course, the latest from Carrie Underwood. Also some Pearl Jam.

Just thought I’d keep you up to date on my musical tastes.
