Lutz, Lutz, Lutz

It has been three weeks since I have posted. Three weeks since I have even looked at the activity on this blog. Three long, empty weeks.

I was surprised to see a note from Brian Settle, who used to work here in The Eagle’s sports department. Hey, Brian, been a long time. I was touched by the note from Randy Griffitts, one of my favorite guys in the world and my son’s best friend.

And as I read through some of the responses, it occurred to me that: I love you guys. And girls. And anybody else who takes the time to read this blog.

Since my last posting, my son went through a terrible ordeal with kidney stones, I reneged on a scheduled trip to St. Louis, I played a windy, torturous round of golf at Prairie Dunes, I had a baby, I took the wallpaper off my living room wall, I went to see the thoroughly enjoyable Prairie Home Companion, I continued my routine at the YMCA and even went once to the brand-new Y and I failed to do anything to further the cause of humanity. Except for the baby, of course, which really didn’t happen in case you’re incredibly gullible.

But I have missed this blog and I know of at least three other people who missed it, too. I hope not too many of you gave up on me.
