First of all, Paula Abdul is a real freak. I have to brace myself for her psycho behavior every week. Can someone please explain to me what she brings to American Idol? I don’t get it.
Secondly, Katherine McPhee was at a real disadvantage tonight in singing Elvis Presley songs against three male competitors. Would the producers of the show have made the three guys sing Stevie Nicks? I don’t think so. If you go on what happened tonight, Katherine is in real trouble. However, on the full body of work, she’s still one to beat.
The question becomes: Who gets eliminated tonight? It might be Katherine, which would be a shame. Elliott Yamin is growing on me every week. And I have to admit, Taylor Hicks is pretty talented. Chris Daughty might be in a little trouble, too.
Going into tonight, I would have bet a lot of money that either Elliott or Taylor was the next to go. Now I’m not so sure.
As always, what do you think?
I’m usually not as self-indulgent as this post will make me out to seem, but I figure my best chance of following through on my pledge to get healthier is to make my mission public.
In January, I went to the doctor expecting bad news. And boy did he deliver. My cholesterol was at 226. My triglycerides were at 285. My blood pressure was borderline high. So I decided then and there that I was going to try and do something about it.
I’ve been working out at the YMCA for more than three months now. Here’s the latest: I have lost 29 pounds. My cholesterol is 171; my triglycerides are 170. My blood pressure is under control and I feel better than I have in a long while.
The key for me is continuing the workout regimen. It doesn’t come as naturally for me as it does a lot of people. Right now, for instance, I’m having to fight a little bit to come up with the energy to get to the gym. But I’m determined to lead this kind of lifestyle for as long as I have a lifestyle.
My doctor is impressed. And there’s no one I would rather impress.
