It’s working out

Probably the biggest thing going on in my life (and I know you care) is my new workout regimen. That and March Madness, an endless supply of basketball and the high school and college levels that makes this month the most exhausting and enjoyable month of the year to do my job.

Going to the YMCA has become a routine part of my life and, I hope, it always will be. That’s the trick. I have done this a few other times, gotten all hyped up about getting into better shape. And I have been devoted. Until I haven’t been.

Just more than a year ago, I went to the Y regularly for five months. I was feeling good. But then one morning I heard the alarm and decided to sleep in. The next day it was the same thing. A year later, I still hadn’t been back to the Y.

But now I have a blog. And I have blog readers (don’t I?) who will push me. I have put myself out there so I really have no choice but to continue to go. And, besides, it’s fun. Or at least right now I have made myself believe it’s fun.

This is far more of a mental exercise than physical. It’s about going. Just getting up and going.
