First, let me say I’m thrilled that Jon Stewart is going to host tonight’s Academy Awards. I can’t wait to see how it goes. He’s not your typical Oscar host.
Secondly, I will not get to see the Oscar’s live, although I will have them recorded. I’ll be driving back to Wichita from St. Louis and the Missouri Valley Conference, attempting to navigate Highway 70 and dodge all the trucks. Hey, Missouri, want to put some money into this road? It’s an embarrassment.
Anyway, here are my Oscar predictions, sure to come true:
Best Actor: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Capote
Best Actress: Reese Witherspoon, Walk the Line
Best Supporting Actor: Paul Giamatti, Cinderella Man. Everybody is picking George Clooney. Boo, hiss. Big mistake if he wins.
Best Supporting Actress: Rachel Weisz, The Constant Gardener
Best Director: Ang Lee, Brokeback Mountain
Best Picture: Brokeback Mountain.
