Jeff Butts, our online editor, is a really nice guy. Earlier this afternoon, he approached my desk as I was working on my Saturday column with a simple request: "Bob, you should write more on your blog?”
I choked him to death.
No, not really. I’m opposed to violence seven times out of 10.
But I did tell Jeff that unless Tony Ridder, the CEO or president or something of Knight-Ridder, which for now owns The Eagle (have you heard anything differently?) tells me to write more on the blog, forget about it.
My top priority is being the sports columnist. I kind of like that job, you know? I like to try and do it well.
I also do a radio sports talk show five days a week, two hours a day. And I sweep the aisles at a Dillons store from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. every day. So I’m busy.
And while doing this blog is enjoyable and doesn’t take much work, it does take some.
So, Jeff, i’m flattered that you want more blog entries. But back off, fella.
