Virgin Atlantic and The Spaceship Co. have openings for a variety of engineers and will host a job fair in Wichita next month.
The job fair will be held from noon to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14 at the Hyatt Regency Wichita.
The Spaceship Co. is an aerospace joint venture between Virgin Galactic and Scaled Composites, which is building the first fleet of suborbital spaceships and carrier aircraft.
Vehicles include SpaceShipTwo, a suborbital spaceship that carries two crew and six astronauts into space, It will be carried aloft by mothership WhiteKnightTwo, the world’s largest all composite aircraft.
The company’s operations are located at the Mojave Air & Space Port in California.
The companies are seeking aircraft mechanical systems engineers, mass properties engineers, reliability engineers, senior integration engineers for WhiteKnightTwo and SpaceShipTwo, systems engineering manager, composite stress analyst engineer, pneumatic and hydraulic engineers and structural test engineers.
