Boeing considering raising 737 production to 42 per month

Boeing is considering boosting 737 production to 42 planes per month, higher than production increases already announced.

Boeing is ramping production from 31.5 737 single-aisle jetliners per month to 35 a month by 2012, with an increase to 38 per month by mid-2013.

At the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading meeting in Scottdale, Ariz., Jim Albaugh, head of Boeing’s commercial airplane division, said Boeing was taking a “hard look” at further production increases, according to a report by Flight Global.
