Report: Boeing 787 deliveries could be delayed to next summer

First deliveries of Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner could move to June or early July, the company told Air France, according to France’s Les Echos.

That would put the deliveries three months later than the last anticipated delivery date, Les Echos said.

It did not say when Boeing would deliver the first aircraft to All Nippon Airways, which was due to get them starting early next year.

Boeing has said there would be a delay after a fire during a test flight in November. The company has delayed test flights as it investigates the electrical fire.

Bombardier receives order for 15 Q400 aircraft

Bombardier Aerospace has received an order for 15 Q400 turboprop airliners with an option for 15 more from SpiceJet of Gurgaon, India.

The order is valued at $446 million and would increase to $915 million if all options are converted to firm orders, the company said.

India is growing substantially, said SpiceJet chairman of the board Kalanithi Maran in a statement. The airline wants to cater to growing markets and establish service there.

The order is important to Bombardier as it establishes the Q400 airliner in India, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft president Gary Scott said in a statement.

India is expected to take delivery of 600 commercial aircraft in the 20- to 149-seat category in the next 20 years, Scott said.

“At this time, when new airports are being commissioned by the Indian government, Bombardier is uniquely positioned to support the development of Indian’s airline network,” he said.
