Now that renovations on the historic Wichita Air Terminal tower are completed, the Kansas Aviation Museum is planning an open house to show them to the public.
Museum staff, volunteers and local contractors added a new roof, ceiling, tinted windows, flooring in the tower and stairs and fresh paint.
The open house will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5. It’s free. Attendees will also be able to tour the entire museum for no charge.
An exhibit will feature equipment used when the tower was in operation beginning in May 1935. It will include displays about the tower’s history and panoramic photos.
