Wife of Cessna CEO to get first Skycatcher

Rose Pelton, the wife of Cessna Aircraft’s chairman and CEO Jack Pelton,  will be the first customer to take delivery of Cessna’s new light sport aircraft, the Skycatcher.

She’ll receive the plane before the end of the year.  Rose Pelton plans to use the two-place, single-engine aircraft to pursue her private pilot’s license.

“I couldn’t be more excited to own the first Skycatcher,” she said in a statement.

Go Rose!

Business must be bad if you have to buy your own product to make one more sale. An make sales look one more better.

The sale should be public record, right? I would like to see the sale price posted…what type of discounts do they get?

At least Jack is putting his money where his wife is to paraphrase. He wouldnt get it for her if he thought it was unsafe; at the very least, if something happened, it would be really bad for business.

They had no one else who could qualify for the note on the plane.

Kind of a slap in the face for all of us laid off workers that are trying to figure out how to keep food on the table or if we will even be able to get our children presents for christmas.

Sounds like Jack is REALLY torn up about ALL the poor folks he laid off lately!
He said he has had SOOOO many sleepless nights worrying about the community of unemployed!
So to ease his guilt,he buys his wife a nice XMAS gift of around 130 grand..while the unemployed familys are eating hotdogs and beans and won’t EVEN have a Christmas this year.
    Thanks Jack for you’re support!

wow.. is she kidding? she gets the skycatcher and the rest of us who are laid off worry about paying our bills, getting food on our plate, and for most of us how will be able to buy christmas gifts. I think Jack is full of crap, sleepless nights huh??. why are you having trouble sleeping? thinking of how to pull more bs over everyones eyes? worried about the 8000 people you laid off might come and picket outside your house? I have many sleepless nights and its because i worry what if i have to take my child to the dr, if i have car problems, praying that my unemployment will stretch. GOOD JOB JACK AND ROSE, thanks for rubbing it in our face. Very sad when my daughter asked why Rose was buying a plane when there are so many people out of work in wichita, why didnt she just donate the money to the food back?. And that is coming from a 6th grader.

    (off my soap box now)

Way to go Rose! Help sell those planes so we can come back to work.

Jack Pelton has done a great job with Cessna. It’s not him that’s causing all the lay offs, it’s Textron. Pelton is a great CEO and really cares about the company and the people who work there.

ellehc your 3rd grader is only mimicing what you’ve told her. Way to go making your own daughter worry and unhappy.

Yeah, right. Like getting a pilots license is that easy. It takes a LOT of time, money, study and if you get a crappy instructor (I’ve had 3 of them) it takes even longer. Of course she will probably sail through by cheating and become a menace in the air. Just what we need. A menace in a Chinese made menace.

johns283940, why would it be a public record? themoi, you sound like a menace. Does everyone on here propose that she should not have the right nor opportunity to purchase and fly her husbands company’s aircraft and that one less sale would be an even better situation that it already is at Cessna? That makes sense.
I don’t believe that it was Jacks fault that there were hundreds of jet cancellations and hundreds of single engine cancellations. You should be more unhappy with the customers that cancelled instead of Jack, or maybe the DC crowd that continually pitches Cessna products as evil.

hey, look at it this way, he is paying money to employ the people who put the 162 parts together at cessna. if he didn’t buy, there wouldn’t be one to put together and more would be laid off. besides, they are in the business to sell airplanes not give their money away to people. you want to whine to someone, do it to obama, pelosi, and reid. we’ll be losing more jobs with cap and tax, health care, & other handouts because businesses will end up laying people off or not rehiring to pay for it, just like what happened when minimum wage increased so much the past couple years. In the end, we’ll all be paying for it.

umm dogcatmother, who said my daughter is unhappy or worried. She has simply made a comment. And by the way she is a very happy child. I do not hide anything from her. She likes to watch the news. And i will not hide from her that we will not have the extra money this year to go on trips, out to eat as much, and just plain ol shopping. She is more worried about people who are homeless and hungry than the people who are living high off the hog. So until you walk in my shoes dont judge. I would say she is very happy.. and by the way she is in the 6th grade and on the honor roll.. :)

ellehc, Are you now of in the near future going to eat at a food bank? Do you have the education and experience that jack has that would allow you to run a multi million dollar company? Have you considered getting a job earning a substandard rate of pay or maybe two until the time that you can find gainfull employment. Would you ever consider going through the holiday seasons teaching your children and others the true meaning of the holiday by giving of yourself to others far less fortunate than yourself and not expecting anything in return? I would guess the answer to all the afore mentioned would be NO! it is far easier to sit on this meaningless site and complain about the more fortunate all the time not realy knowing what charity they have supported nor the amount of grief they might feel for the decisions they have been forced to make for the well being of others and the future of the company you might work for again in the future. Yep you just sit there on you a-s-s and hope your unemployment doesn’t run out. You whinny a-s-s union workers disgust me

Wow. Here are two people who have embraced Wichta as no other CEO couple I can think of and you people want to roast them. Where were your barbs when they used their own money to sponsor a Habitat house a couple of years ago (not cheap) or volunteered for Dress for Success – just a couple of the many other things they both do for this community. So Jack makes more than minimum wage – isn’t that what we Republicans celebrate – making money? I think it shows incredible belief in a product that has been unfairly maligned and I applaud Jack and Rose for all they do for Wichita. Happy flying Rose.
