‘Hell of a Ride’ book signing

WICHITA – Cynda Thomas, co-author of a  biography about test pilot Dick Thomas  called “Hell of a Ride” will be in Wichita Friday, June 12 for a book signing.

During his career, the late Dick Thomas crashed a T-33 at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, ejected over Mount Whitney in a Northrop F-5, spin tested F-5’s at Edwards Air Force Base and was Northrop’s chief test pilot for the classified Tacit Blue tacit-blue-whaledemonstrator in secret locations.

Tacit Blue Whale established many firsts in the stealth world. It was the first stealth to use curved surfaces, which led to the development of the B-2 Bomber.  The photo is courtesy of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.

The book signing will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in Bradley Fair at 1920 N. Rock Road. Thomas’ daughter, Velvet Thomas, co-authored the book with her mother.
