If the name Andrew Broom is familar to you, it’s likely because he has been Hawker Beechcraft’s spokesman based in Wichita for about the last year.
Andrew has now moved and joined the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association as its new vice president of communications.
Broom will be responsible for helping AOPA communications strategies, and to oversee day-to-day implementation, the AOPA said.
Before coming to Hawker Beechcraft, he was with Eclipse Aviation as director of public relations.
Boeing shares have fallen about 18 percent since the beginning of the year, TheStreet.com notes.
BroadPoint.AmTech analyst Peter Arment wrote that although the long-awaited 787 appears to be on track for its first flight in the second quarter, “we have been negative and remain so on the longer-term outlook for Boeing.”
Parked aircraft continue to rise, financing remains challenged, airline profits remain weak and production rates don’t match the end demand, Arment wrote.
Yesterday, Wachovia analyst Sam Pearlstein said he expected Boeing will announce 2010 production cuts in the next few months.
The Regional Economic Area Partnership (REAP) released a request for proposals for the Kansas Affordable Airfares Program for fiscal year 2010.
REAP is the authority for administering the program, which was enacted by the Kansas Legislature in 2006 to help keep affordable air service in Kansas.
