The newly formed Wichita Aero Club is having its fourth monthly luncheon at noon today at the Wichita Airport Hilton hotel.
General Aviation Manufacturers president Pete Bunce is the keynote speaker. I had breakfast with Bunce, a former Air Force colonel, and Aero Club executive director Dave Franson.
Bunce says the general aviation industry is under attack from a tremendous amount of regulatory pressures.
He’s also hopeful that the Federal Reserve chairman is correct when he said this week that we’ll start to see some kind of recovery at the end of the year. Bunce said this morning that he thinks that will lead to an uptick in the sale of piston-powered aircraft, most likely followed with business jet orders.
